Specialist : Skin Camouflage Application over Scars


1-day course specifically designed to meet the needs of:

  • qualified beauty therapists/make up artists providing this service as part of a make-over for a one off occasion
  • S-NVQ tutors, module “enhance appearance using skin camouflage”
  • nurses/occupational therapists specialising in burns-plastics, oncology and surgical wards
  • BASC Graduates who wish to expand their core skills


Continuing Professional Development accreditation is awarded by;

  • the Health and Beauty Industry Authority (6 hours)
  • the College Occupational Therapists
  • the Institute of Trichologists
  • the Institute of Maxillofacial Prosthetists and Technologists


each trainee receives;

  • selection of camouflage samples suitable for use over scars
  • applicator kit
  • BASC Product Information Manual
  • additional skin care samples and handout material in support of sessions


course content includes;

  • psychological aspects when working with someone who has an altered image
  • why it is important not to be intrusive and allow the person choices
  • how to quickly achieve an acceptable skin match by employing the knowledge of sight : light : skin colour : pigment in products
  • overview of artrophy, hyperpigmentation and keloid scarring
  • special requirements when using products over scarring
  • application techniques
  • how to maintain the camouflage during wear
  • how to effectively remove camouflage
  • quality time in workshops


Upon successful completion you will be presented with the BASC Certificate of Attendance.
