The BASC abide by the rules and regulations laid out in the UK’s Data Protection Act (DPA) 1998. The UK combined this into the EU’s General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 2018.

Following Great Britain leaving the EU the GDPR UK’s the overarching data protection now complies to the DPA (2018) UK-GDPR (2020). This came into effect on 31.01.2020 and incorporates the DPA with the provisions of the EU GDPR with some technical amendments so that it relates in a UK only context.

a) do not disclose personal information to third parties, other than when required to do so by Law.
b) All data is securely stored electronically
c) No data of whatever kind is sold to a third party
d) Enquires are held for a maximum of 6 months before deletion
